Salary - Upto £43K based on experience
Core Role:
- Planning and implementation of safe, repeatable and efficient production systems,processes, equipment and facilities.
- Problem solving including consulting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Determining methods, tooling and processes required for manufacture.
- Compilation of manufacturing routings and BOM’s (bill of materials) within the company’s MRP system.
- Use of 3D design software to assist in the design of tooling & assembly aids (machined and 3D printed).
- Produce, update and improve internal manufacturing specifications.
- When required, travel to either supplier or customer sites to assist in technical challenges
- Estimate manufacturing costs including recurring and non-recurring costs
- New product introduction, development and prototyping of parts to ensure successful manufacture.
- Support APQP by facilitating FMEA plans (failure mode, effect and analysis), process flow diagrams and control plans.
- Support business growth through research and implementation of new manufacturing systems (software or technology)
- Provide technical support for production (assembly and machining) when implementing change.
Experience/Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum qualification HNC.
- Experience in a high precision manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of manufacturing and design tolerances for assembly and conventional machining.
- Some experience with either metal treatments or unconventional machining
- ERP experience.
- Experienced MS office user.
- AutoCAD 2D or 3D design experience.
- Experience of using process mapping techniques.
Ideal:
- Degree qualified either mechanical, manufacturing engineering or aeronautics.
- Aerospace or automotive experience
- Welding knowledge (fusion, resistance or laser welding would be advantageous).
- Technical design and drawing experience.
- Good understanding of mechanical design principles (Not necessarily filtration principles).
- Proficient MRP user.
- Experienced in compilation of technical documentation used in manufacturing.

Candidate profile:
- Proactive approach and the ability to work under your own initiative.
- Understanding of different types of non-conformance's (e.g., dimensional, cosmetic, chemical etc.).
- Ability to collect and analyse data from a variety of different sources.
- Interpretation of drawings, technical specifications, and product control documentation.
- Knowledge of product qualification and FAIR requirements.
- Understanding and application of lean manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Passion to drive change in a challenging environment and the ability to solve complex problems.
