Where are filters used within the Gasification industry?

Gasification is a process by which carbonaceous materials are thermally converted through high-temperature reaction with a controlled oxygen content to form a syngas or SNG (synthetic natural gas). The filtration of high temperature and high pressure syngas, derived from the gasification of coal or petroleum coke, can be performed with metallic filter elements. This is a demanding filtration duty owing to the nature of the corrosive gas composition and the quantity and nature of the char particulate formed.
