Porvair Launches Positively-charged Junior Filters for Pre-filtration of Biological Fluids
Completing its new range of small-scale filters, Porvair have launched Microfil™ Junior cartridges incorporating a positive Zeta potential for effective removal of submicron haze particles or endotoxins from a wide variety of aqueous biological and pharmaceutical solutions.
Designed for prefiltration to membrane filters in pilot plant and small-scale bioprocessing, Microfil™ Junior cartridges incorporate a polypropylene prefiltration layer, combined with a high dirt capacity glass fibre media. This has the effect of a longer on-stream service life, improved operating costs and a smaller process footprint. The inherent structural stability and excellent dirt holding capacity of the Microfil™ Junior makes it an ideal choice for prefiltration of complex biological fluids such as cell cultures.
Microfil™ Junior cartridges are designed for retrofitting into existing Junior-style housings as direct replacements for existing 2.5 and 5-inch cartridges. Offering removal ratings from 0.5 to 5 microns, Microfil™ Junior cartridges are guaranteed to Beta 5000 (99.98% efficiency).
