Expansion of Porvair Filtration Range for Small-scale Applications

Expanding on the recently launched Junior cartridge range for small-scale filtration applications, Porvair Filtration Group, leaders in the design and manufacture of filtration and separation materials and products, have launched Polyfil™ Junior, an absolute-rated all polypropylene cartridge with standard removal ratings from 0.5 to 5 microns.

Suitable for the filtration of aqueous and organic liquids, Polyfil™ Junior cartridges can be used as prefilters or final filters during the filtration of ingredients, intermediates, make-up waters and final products, including clarification and bioburden reduction in Biopharmaceutical and healthcare scale-up and process validation.

Polyfil™ Junior cartridges have been validated using the recognised industry standard modified OSU-F2 single pass test to Beta 5000 (99.98% efficiency). Composed of graded multi-layer polypropylene media, the inherent structural stability of the Polyfil™ Junior prevents ‘channelling’ and avoids the risk of particle unloading even under impulse conditions.

Polyfil™ Junior cartridges are available in 2.5 or 5 inch lengths in two industry standard formats -  J-style, a single open-ended element with a single internal o-ring seal on the downstream end cap and  S-style, a single open-ended element incorporating an integral flange on the downstream end cap. The J-style  Polyfil™ Junior cartridges have demonstrated resistance to repeat steam sterilisation cycles up to 135°C (275°F) and hot water cycles at up to 90°C (194°F) whilst the S-style is designed for sterilisation by autoclave.
